WHEN BLESSINGS COME...one likes to share

Yesterday was Monday, another routine kind of day. Get up, make coffee, read emails, throw sheets in the washer. Feed kitty his beloved treats. You get the picture. So, when I opened the email from LASR, a popular review site, that announced Storm's Interlude was voted best book of the week, I was thrilled.
Later I received an email from a senior editor about my short story. Had I decided on a name yet? She wants to move ahead with the project. Yes, I had--Those Violet Eyes. So, looks like I'll have a story in the Honky Tonk Hearts Series at the Wild Rose Press. Yee-ha!!

Then, as if I wasn't excited enough, I recieved THE call from my agent. The Wild Rose Press offered a contract on my romantic suspense, Mona Lisa's Room. It seems like we've been waiting so long for a decision. Not so, by publishing standards. We'd submitted the middle of June, so the approval process took about two and a half months.

Short by industry standards; long by my nerves.

I am blessed in my writing career. Although I started late in life, things have been on a wild roller-coaster ride since my first book was contracted the middle of November. It's humbling. Truly.

So, to celebrate I'm giving away a copy of Storm's Interlude to one lucky commenter. Tell me about a dream you have right now. For me, it's losing some weight--groans. For some, it might be a better job, a new baby, new living room furniture, a cruise and the list of possibilites goes on. Tell me, what's yours? Leave your email address in your comment, so I can contact you if you win. Good Luck--and of course, no purchase necessary. Grins!!

Vonnie, congratulations three times over, lol. What an absolute wonderful day you had yesterday.

My dream, other than making money from my published books, lol, is for a better job for my husband, who lost his job of 38 years in 2010. I suppose I can have two dreams!

It was so much fun celebrating your successes yesterday with you. That is one of the reasons I love this writing community of ours - we get to be part of the celebration. Even if I never get published, it has been the ride of a lifetime being with my friends that reach that goal.

I can't really pinpoint a dream. There are so many, but if I had to choose it would be healthy and happy children. Since we lost our oldest daughter to cancer nine years ago, I have gathered children of my heart. We have an absolute jewel of a daughter who loves the fact that I have probably 30 or so 'adopted' children, all of which I am so proud. I love watching them make their way through life. I've learned you make your happiness where you find it. Being 'the old woman who lived in a shoe' is a nice place to be - of course, you can leave off old from that nursery tale. :) Other than that - spending time in Scotland again is a dream I will never give up. mlurso@comcast.net

Best of luck with lots and lots of sales for all of your books coming out. Doesn't that sound wonderful, Vonnie!!!!!!!

Wow, Vonnie. Your stars definitely aligned. Congratulations!

My dreams are to get skinny without dieting, get my husband to quit smoking, publish at least one great romance, work on my daughter's TV show when she gets a TV show, and see my granddaughters grow up and be happy.

Congrats, Vonnie, on all your great news. I bet you'll be smiling for days.

My dream is to become a published author. No big surprise there. :) My motto: Dare to Dream!

Congratulations on all your fabulous news! You must be over the moon. My dream? I think becoming published goes without saying, but my other wish, which is getting really pressing, is for a real no-responsibilities vacation. Preferably next to a lake or river, but really any setting will do as long as it involves serious pampering. (I haven't had a vacation like this in about 20 years.)

Congratulatins on your good news. Certainly a day to remember.
My dream is to get published and get some weight off so I'll at least look presentable when my first dream comes true.
Positive thinking here.

Truly, what a blessing! Enjoy the ride! My dream is to make enough money to afford a maid so I can spend more time writing!
