If you haven't read Calvin's book, you're in for a treat. He'll take you to Paris on a magic carpet ride of words. Calvin lived in Paris for a year, 1968-69, while on sabbatical. During that time he wrote at sidewalk cafes and absorbed French culture. He filled many notebooks with stories.
When he and I married, I found a stack of notebooks collecting dust in a basement closet. I scanned through them and found something delightful. I carried them to him and said, "Honey, you have to do something with these."
Slowly he converted hand-written pages to computer files. He wrote and rewrote scenes, infusing them with that magical spirit that is Calvin. Yes, I am a tad prejudiced.

It will pull you to Paris...to the cafes and bridges...to the people that walk its streets...and to its ghosts. I highly recommend this book. A bit a history woven with unforgettable characters.
