Cover Reveal for "Wild Heat" Series

Most of you know I've been writing two series, alternating between the Scottish Highlands and the Gulfside of Florida. After a few months of writing with a Scottish burr, I have a real problem switching over to male-oriented English. And if you think men don't talk differently at work where it's mostly other guys, try working in a male dominated environment for 26 years. Their word choices will take the curl out of your hair or melt the polish off your fingernails. So, hopping back and forth in language styles takes some strong discipline and lots of rewriting.

 

My series set in Clearwater, Florida in a fictitious fire and marine rescue station was kicked off with the novella "Santa Wore Leathers" introducing you to many of the characters and the operations of the station in the "Wild Heat" series. Yesterday, HarperImpulse did a cover reveal for the three books, even though they're not all written yet.

Ahhhhhhhh, the covers for Vonnie Davis’s new Wild Heat series are in and we love them! We are definitely big fans of anything involving a fireman. Is it the uniforms that make them so sexy? Or is it the hard bodies, heavy equipment and big hoses? Whatever it is, they are definitely on the list of Top Ten Sexiest Professions and we are so excited to share these books with you.

I'm currently writing and rewriting this book, trying to get a better handle on Barclay Gray, who's known at Station Thirty-two as the Ice Man...mainly because around Molly, he's not so icy at all.
